In the last edition of the VTPU newsletter Multicultural Mental Health Australia (MMHA) contributed an article announcing the rollout of “Stepping out of the shadows” a community training package aimed at reducing stigma toward mental illness in culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD). VTPU are happy to announce that from several selected expert trainers, both pilot sites (GV Health and Werribee/Mercy) were successful in the selection rocess. This is a welcome addition to pilot site service development and evaluation activities, assisting the documentation of best practice service models. We congratulate both sites for their enthusiasm in supporting this project and look forward to working with Action on Disability in Ethnic Communities (ADEC), and expert trainers in the two sites to assist with improving access for CALD clients ...more
